Through guided activities and free instrumental play, your child starts to learn about the building blocks of music- rhythm, pitch, tempo and dynamics! Action songs build an awareness of patterns and sequences. Movement games allow children to develop their listening skills and respond to the pitch, dynamic or tempo that they hear. Rhymes build skills in rhythm and pulse. Instrumental play allows little ones to become familiar with different ways of making music, and developing their motor skills and hand eye coordination.
Talking within sessions is kept to a minimum so that your child has an immersive musical experience from start to finish.
Only unaccompanied song and real acoustic instruments are used in our sessions. This is proven to be more beneficial for developing a 'musical ear' in young children, as well as helping their speech development.
Toddler classes feature a 'musical reading' of a story. Gain inspiration for how to turn your bedtime stories into an opportunity for music!
A variety of instruments are available for the children to explore during the free play section. Guided activities to explore pitch, rhythm and patterns are also included for the older toddlers. Hand bells, xylophone, harp, and a variety of percussion instruments are available on Wednesdays. Saturday classes also feature an introduction to the piano and ukulele!
