Held at Lorenden School near Faversham, for children aged 4-7 years! The aim of these classes is to build a solid foundation in musical understanding, to support future instrumental study.
Join for a two week trial for £20. Fees are paid half termly following the trial.
Children will develop a sense of pulse and rhythm through movement, singing and percussion ensembles. They will progress to reading rhythmic notation.
Children will build skills in accurately pitching their voice and singing in simple harmonies. They will learn Kodaly hand signs to support accurate tuning, and progress to sight singing from music notation. Movement, games and group activities ensure they learn through play and in a joyful, developmentally appropriate way.
Children will begin to learn music theory, including how to read notation, through movement, singing and group work.
Your child will have opportunities for solo and group singing and instrumental performances.
Musical concepts such as pulse, tempo, dynamics and articulation are explored through whole body movement and games.
Children will have the opportunity to develop their skills through playing a range of percussion instruments, piano, ukulele and voice.
