Creekside Chorus music classes are designed following the philosophies of Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly.
Kodaly believed that in order to build real musicians, with genuine musical skill and understanding, we need to build a 'well trained ear' and a 'well trained heart' in addition to the skills and technical understanding required.
The Kodaly approach is centered on learning through singing and movement, as the voice is everyone's first natural instrument. Classes are based on simple folk songs, with rhythmic parts, accompaniment and harmonies added as the children progress.
